Hydrotherapy
What is it
Hydrotherapy is exercise therapy in water of around 32-35 degrees. This is an excellent adjunct to your standard Physiotherapy rehabilitation in the sense that you are challenged in ways which is not possible with land based exercises.
How does it work and is it suitable for me
The buoyancy of the water allows you to move with more freedom and ease but also enough to make your muscles work to begin strengthening. This is especially important for regaining function, strength and mobility. Hydrotherapy is thus suitable for a wide range of conditions including osteoarthritis, post-surgical rehabilitation, general aches and pains and gait retraining etc.
We provide 1:1 and group hydrotherapy services at your local pool. A thorough assessment will be conducted to ensure you are suitable for hydrotherapy.
