What is it

Is a technique where super fine sterile needles are inserted into the muscle with the aim being to help release trigger points (muscle knots), reduce pain, induce muscle relaxation, promote blood flow and thus promote healing.

 

 

What can you expect?

• A small prick sensation when the needle goes into the skin but generally people don’t feel it at all. Once the needle hits a muscle knot, you may feel a "twitch" sensation which is a sign that we are on the right spot. The tension that you feel should subside over time during the needling process.

• It is a safe and effective technique with all hygiene protocols taken seriously. We use alcohol wipes to clean the area and dispose of the single use needles immediately in a disposable bin.

• There are certain clients who do not fit the criteria for dry needling so please give the clinic a call to discuss if dry needling is for you.
